Design and build your dream home with New Neighbour

We build high-quality, sustainable single-family homes for older couples, young families, and friends who just want to build a community of homes together.

DESIGN And PLANNING

We will guide you through the process of selecting the perfect design for your site. We understand the importance of harmonizing your new home with its surroundings while minimizing its environmental impact. We will also help you get quotes for any material changes and incorporate that into the expected cost.

APPROVALS AND DOCUMENTATION

Our expert team will work with you to organize all the documentation we need for the build. If there are any site surveys we need in order to apply for consent, we will work with you to organize them.

CONSTRUCTION AND DELIVERY

Most of the building is modular and produced off-site in our factory. Once your site is prepped and ready for installation, we will arrive with the modules and install everything ourselves. If you have a preferred tradesperson you like working with, let us know and we can work with them for the project. On-site construction should usually be done within a few weeks.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

We expect to be able to hand you the keys within 2 months. The most common reason for delay is if your local council has not seen a cassette based building system before, but we have a lot of experience with answering any and all questions they have about the system.

Do you do custom builds?

Yes, we can definitely help you out! We expect a longer delivery time as we will need to have our Structural engineers evaluate any new designs in order to get them approved for construction.

What are the differences between a New Neighbour and a normal home?

On balance, the total cost of a New Neighbour often pans out to be about the same as conventional construction, but you're getting a building with significantly better performance in terms of energy, environmental impact and quality.
